    Default Territorial Blue Winged Teals

    From Wakodahatchee last week...the blue winged teals were doing battle apparently over mates and territory.

    1/1600, f 5.6, ISO400
    Canon Mk3, 500 f4 + 1.4tc

    Hi Grace, I love the action your captured. Being able to see both of the birds eyes in a plus. I like the raised blurree wings for the sense of motion it adds to the image. I also like the blue water with the darker multi-colored background. Finally in my opinion the splash and water drops are the topping on the cake. Well done.

    Great action shot!!

    I think there needs to be a bit less contrast here, as there isn't much shadow detail.

    I like that you used a high shutter speed to freeze the action; agree these seems to be little shadow detail

    Thanks for your comments...would you explain about the shadow detail? I do not know what you mean. I didn't adjust for shadows, but maybe there is something that I'm not seeing?

    Wow, you were Johnny on the spot with this one. Love the droplets and the great view of both birds. At least too contrasty and possibly a bit over-SH-ed.
