I don't usualy post here as I shoot mostly birds , but the avian shooters have nothing on you guys. There are magnificent images here as well. This post is not as exotic as some of the animals here , but we don't get too many exotics here(on LI) except in the zoos. That being said , I think these are still beautiful creatures and can , at times , provide some fine photo oportunities.

Glad to see you over here Joe, a real treat !!!

I like the way its framed giving ample room for the surrounding bg, good feel to the image and great eye contact !!

    Joe,

I am of a differing opinion. I feel having the head in the center of the image makes it too static. I would suggest a crop of the left and top.

Joe, White tails are pretty exotic to us South Africans:)! I like the golden light, sharpness & beautiful natural frame, won't change anything myself.

Very nice lighting Joe and the busy BG actually suits here.

I would also prefer a crop but I would prefer a crop from the right-the area behind the tail serves little purpose as the top and left sides show the environment well. Not a big crop, just closer to the large tree near the rear of the deer

The cluttered BG is an all to familiar problem, which we just have to live with. The crop does not really bother me at all. My only nit is the rather predominant branch on the right hand side of the face. If your ethics permit I would try to remove it.

Don't mind the crop as the bg shows where the deer has likely just emerged from giving a good feel to it's environment. Too bad about the branch near its head, as mentioned it could be removed if so inclined.

Really like the light and eye contact. Would like to see a little off the top.
