Wonderful comp and BG. Might lighten the eye a bit. Eye contact is great , just needs to be a little lighter.
Nice seeing him just out of his bath !! For the eye my darken the pupil a bit and rest would appear lighter !!! Mighty fine as presented !!!!
Ken, beautiful portrait, like the expression and the mud. You have captured their funny look well. I may try a linear burn on the horn to see the effect. Thanks for the extra info, did not know they are that fast!
Hi Ken, might suggest to have a tinker with 'Curves' > Custom tab > Linear or contrast pre set. I just think it needs a bit of punch, however viewing it on laptop so...:D
Steve;)
Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Ken
Had a tinker with Curves/linear contrast, S/H tool & USM (selective layers).
Hope you don't mind. A nice portrait with pleasing BG.

Very pleasing image with nice bg, agree with a little more punch and slight darkening of the pupil. I might take just a little off the rhs and bottom.

Marc,
Thanks for that, it certainly adds more punch!
Good to know that this animal is the fastest African antelope. The repost works well.
Cheers,

Hi Ken, Before reading anything I thought Mokala - they must be born with the mud on their faces, its still there a year after our visit! Lovely mugshot of one of our ugliest ungulates, co;our very true!
