This was just interesting, the Carmine bee eaters mill and swarm around but in the jumble there are sometimes some formation. This is a small portion of a BIG picture, plenty faults but enjoy. If there is an interest in what Carmines look at near nest sites I can post one.
Pretty cool to see so many gliding in the same position and good angle, too. Another vote for cropping a bit off the top and I would selectively sharpen the bird in the lower left.
Oh man, I really like this. The repeating pattern is great. If anything I'd crop the top to match the negative space at the bottom to emphasize even more the repeating birds. Thanks for sharing this.
Well done, Loukie, for spotting and capturing this so nicely. I have just spent a few weeks attempting to get something more than a perched carmine bee-eater with no postable success, so I'm properly envious of this image. It has an Escher-esque quality to it. Agree with cropping for additional symmetry. Please post your nest site images, too.
Great symmetry shown here Loukie in good light. One of my favourite African birds.;) ( the hide @ Kaingo SLNP- Zambia opposite a riverbank nesting site is magic)
You have some dust bunnies along the 3rd row of CBE:D

Lovely capture Loukie - I really like the symmetry in the image and the overall impact created as a result. I agree with the suggestion to trim a bit off the top. I also noticed that some of the wing tips of the birds seem a bit feint - did you perhaps clone / copy some of the birds? The upper mandible of the top left bird seems feint too ;)
Albert I cloned out some birds, did not really take my time and did not do it very carefully, so I zapped some areas and was too lazy to reconstruct those areas. This was roughly where I started the original was "lost in translation" Regards Loukie
