Haven't posted much recently, so thought this would ease my back in. It always pays to look behind just to see what's happening.

Hi Rich, Absolutely right about looking behind to see if there is another composition. Many times your back can be to the shot.
I like how you minimalised the neg space on the bottom(might still crop to above your name) and included the palm tree on the LR.The sky is quite dramatic yet to my eye soft. Since your reading your exposure from the sky and shooting at 1/3000 you had room to up the f/stop and still have gotten plenty of speed. I might have tried that to see if it would have sharpened the sky somewhat...

    Hey Rich,
I might go with a bit more off the bottom....but the yellows look a tad blown. Try pulling back on them or a bit on the B/C ....just to make them a touch less hot.....otherwise the comp is very effective with the super sky shapes.

A very dramatic sky, and I like the comp. I agree, the sky does appear slightly blown.

    Rich,

Love the swirl of clouds at the top. I agree with Dave on the DOF, getting the trees and the clouds sharp would have been OTT.
