I took this pic a couple of months ago. Its a significant crop and logs removed. Now I'm wondering if I removed too much.

    What do you think?

Chery, it looks to me like you did a good job of cropping and "fixing." Puts all the focus on the well-exposed, sharp bird. (-:

Nice job, Cheryl . . . . and I particularly love the BKG.

Hi Cheryl - nice PP work from the original file - the end result is very nice.
Like the colours - bird looks sharp and the BG colours are gorgeous.
Might just lighten the eye a tad.
    good show :)

    Hi Cheryl,
This is beautiful...I like it. The colors and hues of the background compliments your bird quite well. You display fine details, a good head angle and sharp eye, and your bird is placed just right in frame...good show, looking forward to your next one...

I am going through old photos to submit to local photo club competition. I like the background better on this gull, but like the position better with the gull in the blue sky. which is more important in an image? The whites are not actually blown out in the original. I need to tone them down in the adjusted version.

Love the sharpness, the gliding position with full wing stretch and how the light reflect off the tail. I don't mind the background in the original but I also like what you did to the background. There are two clone marks in the background, one is vertical at the bottom of the frame you can see it by looking straight down from the beak, another is horizontal just look to the right and up a bit from the vertical mark.

The second picture does have better flight pose with full wing stretch so you can see the full under wing details. I don't know what the judges will be looking for, but for me if I have to choose one to hang on my wall then it will be the first picture, love the mood of that one.
