Default A walk on the beach

Ring billed gull at Galveston beach. Does the pano crop work?

40D. 400 f5.6 at f/5.6 iso 640. 1/1000. Add exp. comp in camera but should have added more. Had to lighten it in DPP which increased noise. Did NR on BG.

    All opinions welcome.

I like the image a lot. The bird is bit noisy but with the NR in most of the image it is not too
distracting. What I like here the most is the walking pose and the raised foot. Low angle is great too.

Hi Kaustubh, Good self critique. I like the placement of the bird in frame. I agree with Ilija that the walking pose is pleasing. In my opinion I think the gray background goes well with the white and gray of the bird. I can't make up my mind about the lighter out of focus strip of foreground at the bottom of the frame but probably would leave it as is. Thanks for sharing.

I like the pano and the pose. Would add just a bit of contrast.

    Thx everyone.

I will try and tone down the BG a bit and hopefully the bird will pop.

Nice low angle and walking into image. Cloudy day photographs make for good exposure but a flat look and suggestions as previous posts.

Wonderful job, I love the walking pose with upright chest. Pano crop and low angle work very well. TFS
