    Default camera bag recommendations?

I'm looking for something to organize and protect my gear, mainly for local travel, driving to and from shoots etc. I bring 2 non-pro DSLRs with me, and often like to bring 4-5 lenses along. Often brough along: Canon 100-400L, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS USM, Canon 10-22mm UWA, Canon 24-70 2.8, and sometimes my Tamron 180mm f/3.5 Macro. I guess I need something on wheels, and ideally a few extra compartments for batteries and memory cards. Anyone have a bag they like to use for similar useage?

I'm not seeing too many options at that size, other than the Lowepro Pro Roller or maybe a Tamrac Speedroller. If I have to exclude one of the larger lenses from the case, so be it. I do own the 500mm f/4, but am being realistic that no travel bag is going to fit it other than something like the "Glass Taxi".

    All help appreciated!

Actually, you should look at the Think Tank line of rollers. I have the Think Tank Security and it holds a pro body, 600mm f4 lens, 200-400mm f4 lens, three wide angle lenses, a set of extension tubes, flash, bunch of other items. See http://www.thinktankphoto.com/produc...amera-bag.aspx

I bought the Gura Gear Kiboko bag and used it for 6 weeks in the field in Antarctica. It holds a 500 or 600 on one side and plenty of room on the other. It's the best bag I've ever owned.

I use the large Kata Reporter series bag, PR-460. It holds all the lenses and bodies your using, plus a 15" notebook. I carry several flashes, cords, spare batteries etc. It is also part of their rolling system, called InsertTrolly.

Thanks so much John H, John C, Jeff, and Don. I'm going to investigate all of the bags mentioned. It's already a big help.

I use the think tank security for travel, it fits above the airline seat has a handle and rollers. It has been a good investment

    Thanks Myer.

After much deliberation I think I'm leaning towards the Think Thank Airport Security over the Gura Gear Kiboko. I strongly prefer a wheeled bag for when I work at weddings or in case of dealing with airports. The Kiboko is definitely appealing too, and seems like it'd be great for field use.

Just a heads-up but a camera bag and accessories is not considered "carry on" for the purposes of travel from Canada to US, but roller-bags are, and are currently not allowed. This is just to say that the roller bag may limit you in the future. Have at look at this interesting thread, particularly the replies 15 and 16.

Hi, may be worth thinking about a Backpack with separate wheels like I have, similar to these...

Try "West Marine". They are about the largest supplier of boating gear around.

+1 on the Kiboko bag. I used a prototype in Africa and I liked it much better than my Think Tank Airport Accelerator. It's much more comfortable to wear as a backpack and the access is better. You only need to open 1/2 of the bag at a time, a big advantage if the weather is bad. Also, the design of the inside pockets allows you to put things like lens pens, a filter or two and spare batteries safely inside without smashing them up against the tops of you pro size bodies (as happens with my Think Tank).
