Ken Watkins' photo inspired me to upload this one.

We saw some magnificent nyala on our recent trip to the far North of the Kruger National Park.

This one was taken close to Pafuri, a very lush dense riverine forest - the preferred habitat for this stately antelope.

Well after saying it was rare here is another one, you were obviously a lot closer than me!

    Nice shot!

    thanks Ken

this is about 80% of the original image...cropped away some dead space (out of focus trees in foreground).
yours is however much more in the open with that great clean background ;)

What an amazing looking creature and an awesome capture! I love the behavior you captured here. I understand that environment is extremely important, I only wish that the tree were not right behind the antelope.

Hey, great to have you back, hope you enjoyed your holiday :)
Very good looking animal, I would put back what you cropped unless it's distracting, because I feel it a bit tight.

    Morkel,
Having looked again, I think the lower light has given you better colour in particular on the facial markings.

    thanks for the comments everyone.

Fabs - I found the piece I cropped off distracting, so I'll leave it out. I do have other shots of this dude but I liked the chewing pose here.

Morkel you did very well to nail him this open and clearly. I know the area well and IF you see it, it is nearly always just a ghost of the bull. I see you used da Darkside's equipment, and it delivered for you!
