“Morning Flight”
This perky young fellow was flying along the waters edge in Shark Valley, Florida’s Everglades National Park. He was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D - IF-ED , with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

As Lance would say "Lot's to like here" Framed well, nice full wind position with beautiful primaries on display solid HA and eye, also love the color in lower neck!
BG is sweet with a hint of accent - well done. Nice job preventing head from crossing bottom wing - strong image.
Hi Gus. Well captured! A first year bird I think, based on the dark under wings and bill. I really like the composition you have here! If this were a painting or fine art print, you could sign (or chop, asian week in OOTB is coming up!) in the upper right area and I think this would serve to balance the piece. Looks like you nailed the exposure with the detail in the whites. I too notice the halo around the legs? I also notice posterization in the blue BG, I get this sometimes using shadow/highlight, levels or curves a little too heavily. Sometimes I've had to select the BG and do a heavy gaussian blur to eliminate this. It's a keeper non the less!
Good morning Gus! Very nice flight shot. From a tech standpoint, exposure, sharpness, and DOF all look good. I like the eye contact and the great look at the near wing. Far wing position could be a little better, but you've got good separation between the far wing and the head. A bit more canvas up top would be nice IMO.
In terms of camera settings, I tend to use somewhat larger apertures for flight (typically f/7.1 or f/8). This allows you to go with a lower ISO or a faster shutter speed than f/11 will allow, but still gives you plenty of DOF.
