    Another try at our provincial bird, the Black-capped Chickadee, taken at Sackville, NB, Canada on 27 Jan 2008. The bird has extracted a seed from a Sumac in my garden. Sumac does not seem to be a particularly well liked food by local birds but they do eventually discover the seeds. I would have liked a better head-turn.

    Canon 40D, 100-400 mm F4.5-5.6 IS USM, 400mm, 1/300 @ F11, ISO 400. 50% crop, eye selective shadow and highlight.

    You did well on this one John Head angle not bad at all Would select the head area and lighten just a little more Then give it another usm pass Excellent image !!!!

    Absolutely adorable little critter :)

    Yes, a little more sharpening will do it some good and I'd run some noise reduction in the background too.
