    Default Snow Junco

On our third straight day of it snowing pretty much all day. Caught a break in the flakes mid morning. Back yard feeder with (lame) perch. Definately need to work on the perch a bit (can't get Alan's CD soon enough). No cloning, just crop and some levels/color. A bit of fill flash to combat the dull day.

Camera Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark II
Flash Used: Yes -1 exp comp
    Focal Length: 560.0mm (400/5.6 + 1.4 TC)
    Exposure Time: 1/250
    Aperture: f/8.0
    ISO equiv: 125

Nice detail, lighting and BG. Wish the tail wasn't blocked by the perch.

I think this is the same as Dark Eyed Junco? We have a pair that nests in the grasses 10 feet out our back door every summer. I like the exposure, detail, and the perch looks natural. I have never seen one in the winter. I might touch up/darken the bright area to the upper left of the bird. Well done.

Yes John, I believe you are correct. My title should have read "Junco in the Snow". Sorry to mislead...

I like the setting - snow always adds to an image. Lovely pose, and I would clone out the piece of foliage on the right above the perch.
