    Default Common Redpoll

A rather young Common Redpoll. These normally very abundant little birds have been a rare sighting this winter. Natural perch of dead cow parsnip stalk.

A simple, beautiful image, John. I like the diagonal composition and the complementary bg color.

Beautiful image. Lovely soft light, pose, eye contact, BG and detail. I am not sure about the long vertical though. Would consider cropping a bit off the top and bottom to make it a standard 2:3 vertical.

Beautiful image John. Nice head angle, great background, perfect exposure, wonderful pose. The angle of the perch is a bit steep for me.

Beautiful, simple portrait. I like the warm colors. The bird looks healthy and has given you a nice pose. I like his red forehead.

John, Very beautiful BG colors that compliment the bird nicely. Sharp details and lovely exposure along w/ a natural perch make this great!:)

I think the vertical works well, but would bring in the RHS slightly. Good pose and colours, and overall nice and sharp.

Am really missing these dainty little finch this year. Beautiful soft light/colors with wonderful details. The bg is gorgeous! Love how you composed this and wouldn't change a thing :)

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions! Paul, and Cindy, I find it interseting that redpolls are absent in your regions also.
