Another one of the backyard series using a bird feeder + hide earlier in the fall. Canon 40D, 300mm 2.8L, 2 430 ex ii flashes off camera, 1/100 sec., iso 640, f/6.3. Usual photoshop processing, nothing cloned or added. NR on BG. The fill flash made the BG look a little dark relative to the bird but I kinda like the effect. All critiques eagerly welcomed, thanks.

I like the darker BG too. Topside view of the bird is nice as is the overall colors of the image. Nice image.

Nice job Joel. Looks ok being darker. (ha dit been brighter, I'd imagine the colors would be competing for attention). Nice pose, comp and details.

Wow Joel, great capture. I really like the pose and the BG. I think it really fits this species. I also like how the BG color compliments the perch. The detail in the eye and white feathers on the head seems to be lacking.

Like the SH, EXP, and the BKGR. The bird's head is turned away from the line of its body which is a no-no when the bird is angled slightly toward you as it is here.

This could use a healthy crop from the bottom and if it were mine I would eliminate the two small bits of the perch protruding from the middle of the bird's back.
