    I made this image outside of Bosque in 2005. It was my first experience seeing these beautiful birds.

    1DMK2 with 500 f4 on tripod very low to the ground. Cropped slightly. ISO 200 1/250 f 5.6.

    Very nice ,Ed. We have thousands of Wigeons here-
    Sometimes on these guys I lighten up the dark area close around the eye to make it more visable.

    A simple composition Ed that works really well - love the colours and detail.

    Lovely waters and pose, as you mention, a real classic :)

    Bonnie's idea of selective lightning the black sounds good to me, I do that sometimes to separate the eyes from black masks.
