Waiting in my hide for doves to land on a set-up, to my amazement a wild Goshawk dove down and caught a dove, pinning it under the soft snow. The hawk was hidden by the set-up and I had to carefully move the tripod to get a few images before it flew away.

Like the way you maintained the true texture of the snow here. Well composed and exposure control. Good details too. I would lighten up the eye selectively a little bit.
Never hurts to be lucky Caroline. And it's always wise to be ready to be lucky! I like the composition and exposure and that loose feather adds to the drama. Very nice.
Lovely shot! Would try to slightly brighten up the bird. Must have been an amazing experience!
Couldn't resist playing with this awesome shot - some levels, contrast, saturation, S/H - please let me know what you think.
Happy new year!!
Cheers,
Ofer
Thanks for the repost Ofer, I appreciate you taking the time to redo the image. This was taken during a snow storm in bleak conditions. I like your version with perhaps a bit less saturation. I'm still not sure about the eye color having seen this bird only twice in the wild myself.
I like the low angle, and the Goshawk looks proud with himself. Good sharp detail captured, and the lone feather on the right, balances the comp nicely. Well done Caroline.
