    The feather detail is the first thing that stood out to me! Superb!

    I would have put the bird a bit higher in the frame I think. A little more eye contact would have really put this over the top.

    Very nice framing and comp with the perch.

    Good-looking bird, I like the sharpness, perch and open beak. I would darken the pupil a bit and also wish for more eye contact. I might have stopped down a bit more for wider DOF.

    Gary,

    Very interesting subject.

    Composition is fine and working out well here.

    As Axel suggested, stopping down to F8 or F11 would have provided more DOF and kept the whole subject in focus. Check out fstop and aperture setting from Alan Murphy images. They will provide you good information on settings.

    Very nice details.

    Love the calling pose, the sweet eye, the feather detail, and that rosy belly. And the SH.
