    Default Guardian of the Summer

In the fading color of the late summer, this Pine Siskin was standing guard on top of a fading bloom.

Hi Doug, the vertical comp works well with the bird perched high in the frame. I like the flowery perch, good pose and detail, and he stands out nicely against the darker BG.

The light on the bird and flower against the dark Bg makes this an awesome image

Hi Doug, I also like the effect the lighting has on this image. The spot light effect highlighting the bird and flower while the background remains in the shadows is pleasing in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.

I was with you Gary. We were at Capulin Springs this summer. The bird was in some light, and I was photographing it against the dark area behind the top part of the log.
