Magnificent looking species with great color. Wonderful detail in this one. Sharp as a tack where it needs to be with a great BG. Not in love with the perch , but I would NEVER pass it up because of it.

Great pose, BG and hairdo. I would like to see a little more DOF. Is this full frame, is there any room to make this a verticle?

Thanks Joe and Dan. Herewith a vertical version full frame top to bottom. I agree on more DOF but not much I could do in low light. Did not want to drop the SS any more as they never sit still.

Cool hairdo, good angle and head angle. I like the vertical crop and would give it a tad more room at the bottom. The image looks quite oversaturated, should be easy to fix. I might not sharpen the perch so much, it brought out some noise.

Never seen a Malachite having a bad hairday, nice capture.

Hey Hendri, I like the splayed crest, together with the angle of capture. You have brought out the colours nicely considering the conditions. Hope you had a good holiday with plenty of opportunities. Cheers mate.

Such a colorful bird. Well captured. BG looks a little noisy on right side.
