    Default Golden "eye"

I made this image today, while trying to capture the male breeding display of the Common Goldeneye. I did not get exactly that-- this was a frame taken during a fight of two males. It was hard to get anything out of the fight as the water was going everywhere!
I did experiment with a larger crop, but I liked the intensity of the bird more when croppped close.

    Hi Bonnie,

Excellent capture. Very dramatic and sharp. You did well with the exposure and timing!

Hi Bonnie the prominent eye does it for me !!!!! Love it Most images with water splashing all over the place don't work but this is just great for my taste !!! The total direct eye contact and sharpness just make it right Also like the cropping Big Congrats !!!!!!!

A wonderful image, congrats on the capture you make here. The tight crop works fantastic because it brings you right into the action.

Not your average Golden Eye image. I like the intensity and the splash. Tight crop works for me.

Great image. I only wish I could get even remotely close to these guys. So far that is not happening. Thanx for sharing.
