    Default Snow Egret Preening #2

In my last post I posted one in this same series in a horizonal format. Both were taken vertically, but with the head facing right under the wing in the last photo I liked the horizonal format. In this shot the head is more left, so I think a vertical format fits. That was what I intended when I took the shot. Let me know if this should be cropped differently. Thanks for your help.

    Daniel:

To my eye, the cropping here is very effective, because of the fronds above and the reflections of the fronds. They echo the feathers in the wings.
    This is very nice.

The image does need some tweaking on the exposure and levels, along the lines of what Juan did on your previous image, but the composition is fine.

    Thanks for sharing

I think a vertical is the only way to go here. Good detail on the whites, and I like the pose. With regards to the placement of the bird, I would maybe move him up in the frame, with more space at the bottom.

Very cool pose. I like this crop for the same reasons Randy stated.

I like the hunting pose and composition. Whites well exposed too.
