    Default Marbled Godwit

    The Itch.

Taken Sunday just before sunset at Howard Park. The foreground is a bit messy but the virtual leg was there so I ran with it.

Took down the ISO as recommended - thanks Beak and Art - I see the difference!

    Hey Phillip,

This is what is all about. I'm glad you when back and got the image. The FG does not bother me at all.

Hi Philip Agree with your assestmet regarding the legs and fg !! I like the pose and parallel head to the plane Love the feel !!! If anything might increase density !!

Nice intimate low angle, that's what I feel is strongest about this one -- the angle -- and you also had beautiful light. You could darken the foreground a bit to make it less apparent, but it is ok as is also. Well done.

A fine image Philip captured in beautiful light - the Godwit having a scratch just puts it in a class above the regular bird portraits!!!

    Hey Philip!

Nice to see one of your posts, and a superb image indeed. Good action, sharp and awesome light. The nit about the forgroundis nothing to worry about in my opinion, the image is strong!!

Substantially less noise! 250 is a full stop slower 500, so I'm sure you noticed the difference in shutter speed, but your background benefits greatly from the lower ISO. Nice and sharp, well exposed and good color. Even though the foreground is messy, I might like to see more room at the bottom than the top with his bill pointing downward the way it is.
