    Default Jaguar Under Glass

actually the jaguar was behind glass at a small zoo in Tyler, Texas.....an older Canon 30D image.

    Duped original
    Increased sat and contrast
    Fractalius B&W
    Adjusted levels for deeper black
Masked jaguar body back in at 45%.....eyes/nose at 100%
    Flattened
    Selective adjustment of red/yellow saturation
    Duped layer
    Fractalius again..... glow 100 altered.
Set layer blend mode to Soft Light 65%
IMO, the light area top/central bg is questionable. I decided
it gives some separation so left it there.....opinions?

Thank you for looking in and c/c

Fantastic image Dave. The original looks like a posed portrait. The jaguar's eyes are captivating. I didn't even notice the white area at the top until I read what you wrote, so it doesn't bother me.

Dave, I love the frac. work here. Really nicely done. The eyes are killer. I might take the top white area down just a slight bit if it were mine, but not much as you said it gives some separation. My favorite part is the nose.

Nice pose and frac work, Dave. As Patti and Denise have already said, the jaguar's eyes just grab you. I suppose the white area could be toned down a little, but frankly I don't really notice it so to me it's no big issue.

I really like the effects of the fract. on this portrait Dave- the eyes are so very captivating. I think I'd try to burn down the bright area behind the jags head a tad as it does pull my eye away from that beautifully marked face a bit. Well done :)

Another vote for toning down the white spot a bit Dave, so it doesn't compete with the face. Looks good for
    "Under Glass".:)

Dave, a really beautiful piece of fractalius and pp work. The white part doesn't bother me at all.

comments appreciated.....If I revisit this image, will definitely tone down
or add some details to the light area, but just a wee bit
