Grabbed this unexpected along the roadside from the outer banks of the Skagit. Like the pose however lighting was poor and had not time to mess with the beamer. Shot on canon 40D with 100-400L lens @ f5.6

    P.S. EVERYBODY HAPPY NEW YEAR

    Phil:

Nice angle on head and rear wing. Wish the front one was not pointing straight out at us. A bit more bank towards us would have been very nice.

Some noise is starting to creep into dark feathers, and the top of the head looks just a little bit hot.

I might consider just a bit more room front and bottom.

Always nice when an unexpected shot presents itself. I like the subtle clouds.

Your thoughts seem to echo my own on this image, will fiddle with it a little more and possibly repost the results if it is noteworthy. Hope your New Year was Great!!!

    Thanks for your input
