Default Bahamas Duck Portrait- Anas bahamensis

Took this picture in a pond near Fajardo coast in Puerto Rico. This is a migratory bird for us and can be seen mostly on winter season. The nictitating membrane is clearly see on the eye which I like a lot.

Canon 40D, Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L, ISO 400, Av 5.6, 1/2500, exp. comp -1/3, Ev. metering, Handheld, WB Cloudy, Taken on Aug 22, 2009 7:40am

I like the low angle and eye contact, sharpness looks good, too. I wish there were no other bird in the frame and too bad the nictitating membrane partially covers the eye and the image could go a bit lighter for my taste.

Hi Jim, Very nice looking duck with plenty of detail, you might want to try to crop this to a pano eliminating the OOF top duck.

This is very similar to our red billed teal - the only difference our species has a full red bill. I like the low angle, overall nice and sharp, and the droplets adds to the image.
