Taken at Ding Darling in low light about a month ago. Cropped to vertical plus a small amount off the bottom, and tried to remove noise as best I could. Apparent halo around the bill is on the unprocessed RAW file, so I think it is the lighting and not due to sharpening, thus I left it there. C&C appreciated.

Angle, head angle and BG look good. I might give it a bit more room and increase the color temperature a few degrees. The whites have a slight blue cast on my monitor.

Nice detail and eye contact. I agree that it's too tight.

Axel and David: Thanks for looking. I agree that the bird looks a bit squashed. I didn't give him any more room above, as-shot, and only cropped a small bit from the bottom. I cropped tightly to vertical to avoid a patch of distracting light grey sky peeking through the foliage in the ULC. Adding canvas might be tricky here, so I'll have to go back and find him again next year.
