Default Before & After - Great Egret

I didn't have time to work on an image that I'd cloned, so I'll post this before and after that I worked on this weekend.
On the after image I used Fractalius B&W02, then revealed the eye and converted eye area to b&w.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions always appreciated:)

    Hello Cheryl,

I really like this theme of before and after - it's very insightful!

I like your finished charcoal/ pencil sketch with blending result, the pose and positioning of the bird make for a pleasing composition.

Just one note; you have some dust spots in the 'after' version. (One next to the egret's back and one near the top left of the frame.)

Cheryl, Nice high key looking sketch effect. I like the way you changed the look of the image. Spots noted. I feel the bird could go just a bit more toward the center, not much just a touch. But either way it's nice.:)

    Nice image and application, Cheryl.

I like the bird and the effect, but personally like the other BG (color) better.

In the attached I modified the BG and added a little contrast (maybe too much, but ...) to show the neck better in this image, as it started to fade.

While it is part of the bird, I would suggest removing the feathers below the bird, indicated by the arrow. They don't seem to fit well in the second version.

    But ...

    Your image ... your vision.

    Cheryl,

As you have shown, when possible, it sure is a lot easier to use crop to remove branches instead of all that cloning. I really like the resulting image. I also like the white background better than the blue.

Cheryl I like how you have turned this in to a nice piece of art. Would make a lovely print.
