    Default Banking Surf Scoter

    This is another image I made at Barnegat Light two days ago. I guess this pose is one way to get good underwing exposure. :) I removed the head of another bird that was flying nearby.

    I like the banking pose, underwing detail, HA, and exposure, but I prefer the one you posted the other day. I do really like this one though, and I know these guys are very difficult to get.

    Having been there yesterday afternoon in fierce wind I can really appreciate the skill that went into this capture. With the bird heading slightly away the head angle is amazingly good. My only wish is that the upper primaries were as sharp as the lower. Underwing detail is fabulous.

    Exposure and pose look good, and I like the wing position. Good detail in the darks too.
