Cool pose, light and BG. Maybe a bit less contrast? I can't see many details in the blacks. After seeing a few anhinga images, I suspect it's the kind of plumage that makes it look this way. On a second look, there is some posterization in the BG above the eye.

Great shot Alfred! I've got to make it to Florida one of these days. To add to what Axel said, there appears to be some posterization in the BG in the bottom right of the image.

Not much to critique here, you've done a great job. The background is superb and the balance of subject and negative space works. Looks like sharpness is there on the eye and the tip of the beak. Nice!

I agree with most everyone the background light and pose make this a wall hanger.
    Beautiful-wish we were there.

Great eye Doug !!!! What you see is not being thorough clearing the layer multiplying For these images the delicate mouth area has very little density (does have detail) I normally make a duplicate layer and multiple Best to mask the affected area rather than the entire image and then erase After three days of workshop I was kind of beat and not thinking clearly !!!!

    Hi Alfred,

Whats there to say about a great shot like this!
    I love it!
I do see some cloning/masking effects above and behind the head, but that's easily fixed.

Well done getting this great looking guy!

    Greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

    Big Al,
    Sweet, Sweet,
Composition, Sharpness and Exposure all nailed.

If you look just above this beauties head, you will notice cloning or healing brush circles.
    The D300 has sensor cleaning!
