Lake Ouachita is the #3 EPA cleanest lake in the country and makes a very nice winter home for these young birds.

Very nice flight pose with good eye contact. You probably had room to and 1/3 of a stop of exposure to get better detail out of the darks. I'd sharpen the bird a little more and would crop a bit off the top and left.

Thank you very much Doug. I am always afraid I am going to over blow the whites on these guys. I will see if a little larger crop will hold up. It is very near FF. I have croped for 12x18. I'll give it a shot.

    Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill... awesome pose and I like that the head is against the sky. Would be interesting to seee if you get more detail in the darks as Doug suggested. Congrats on an awesome image!

Thanks John, I remember the killer shot you got when one buzzed you in Canyon land. Maybe I'll isolate and run a S/H on them and see what I can get out of it.

Very nice flight pose and HA. I would also try a tighter crop and just a bit more sharpening.

Thanks much Arash. That's special coming from the Hawkman. I only get out 3-4 hours a week so I was pretty happy with this shot. BTW, my friend says the check is in the mail. :)

    Great photo Bill!
Capturing an image that good in a 15mph wind on a rocking 19' boat is tough! Good Job.

Thanks you guys. Actually that was an 18' low profile bass boat taking white caps over the stern. It would be nice to be sitting on the Queen Mary but that's not how it works. Some of the Eagle shots here at this forum are rather humbleing and I felt lucky just to get this one. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm glad you enjoyed. :o

Great shot Bill. Lake Ouachita is an awesome place to shoot big birds. I was very impressed with this huge lake with no houses on it.
