    Default Orange Slice

Back to working with backlighting. Used an orange slice on this one. Seems the best oranges are sent out of Florida to other states. Sorry if it's too centered. My other images from today did not look as good.

Canon 5D Mk 11, Sigma 180 mm. HSM DG APO f/3.5 macro lens and Bogen tripod. My exposure was 1/25 sec. @ f/13.0 ISO 200.

Hey Charles, I think I would like it better if the center area looked sharper, but not sure that's possible as the lines and details in the orange itself are probably soft.

This is an interesting shot...I might try it myself over the long winter. I like the veins of the orange you caught. I did notice the softness as well when I first saw the image.

I also noticed the softness and thought it was odd for f13. Any idea what happened?

Thanks everyone with your comments. I'm not sure what happened to the center focus. Every technique of sharpening I tried seemed to make the image softer and produced noise. Maybe my slice is uneven and not straight. It could have cupped. Need to repeat the photo soon.

Seems I was in to big a rush...
