    Default Bald Eagle Shout

I made this image yesterday at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park. They'd just finished their shortened (because of the cold) flying bird display and allowed us to photograph this lovely Bald Eagle on a perch. After a little while a couple of Red Kites flew over which caused her to call out, warning them off.

Thanks for looking, all nits welcome!

This is a wonderful capture with her calling. Nice detail, sharpness and DOF......right down to the tip of the beak. Also, a pleasing BG. The only nit might be to have had the light more coming over your shoulder to lessen the shadow under the beak.....but this is still well done.

Many thanks for the feedback! :)

Lana, I wondered about that shadow and agree with you (info filed away for next time :)). I did try a bit of dodging in photoshop, but it looked a little fake (down to my technique I'm sure!) so didn't apply it.

Beautiful portrait, love the open beak! I don't feel the shadow under the beak distracts....

Very nice! I like the angle of the head in relation to the direction of the light and the calling expression is great!
