Great shot, it looks like you handled the exposure well....did you use any compensation? This is a great bird, hadn't seen one before!

Cool-looking bird! I'm not sure that I have seen this species before. Did you make this at a lake or at the shore?

Thanks for sharing a unique bird, Willem. We had one of these on the Mississippi River near St. Louis a few years ago and birders were coming from all over the central U.S. to see it and put it on their list. I'd take a little off the top if it were mine. Take care.

Thanks for the comment guys. This duck is a wintervisitor in holland quit rear. The come from the nord of scandinavia and russia. They live near lakes and big rivers over there.
