    Allen, the shooting angle is a bit steped to my taste and the composition is really tight in my opinion. I like the pose of the bird and the out of focus BG. The image needs a round of sharpening but it seems that it is a big crop and that is the reason for the lack of details in the feathers. I think taht a different vropping with more room around the bird, mostly at the right side of the frame, would improve the result. Hope this helps :)

    Good-looking specimen! I like the pose and soft light and agree that more room and sharpening of the bird would make it stronger. I also wish for a lower angle and there seems to be a color cast.

    Hi Allen,

    I do agree with the comments from Juan and Axel...
    ...but I would add that this bird had just begun his moult at the time of this capture. We still shoot our Blues during their "shabby time" also, but this put you at some disadvantage here I think.
