Merlin on the Hunt

Here is a photograph taken in southeastern Pennsylvania of a Merlin with designs on a Blue Jay.

I captured this image an instant before the jay flew safely away.

Bill, I love the shot and the action around it. Lucky for the Jay..probably it got some time while Merlin navigated those branches. Hoped the Jay would have been in more focus - though this is split second so great whatever is captured.
