Welcome to BPN, Niranjan! Very nice first post, I like the soft light, eye contact, BG and the lizard adds a lot to it. I would sharpen the bird and prey and tone down the highlights a bit. Keep them coming!

Wow, what a cool bird and a great capture. If I have to offer any critique it would be to slightly tone down the highlights.

Love the sharpness, the fine details, the color, the pose and the lizard is a big bonus. Really like how the lizard is upside down with eye close and feet up, very prey like pose. Might run a round of NR on the background and just wish that the tip of the tail of the lizard is not behind the perch.

    Niranjan-bhai,

A huge welcome and thanks for posting this amazing capture. The colors of the bird are amazing as is the size of the lizard. I love the head angle and the fact that the bird's tail is on the "right" side of the perch.

And thanks a ton for your membership support.

Welcome Niranjan - I can't remember when I've seen such an awesome first post. Raymond's extra minute or two took it over the top - it definitely needed a little sharpening. You'll get used to the technique of sharpening these little 200 KB's pretty quick. Well done.

    Big welcome!

Very nice repost by two great photographers, in this case, I would like to see Ofer's repost with the saturation boost of Raymond's repost.

A stunning bird and the extra meal makes this one a winner.

Well done Ofer, but imo, the perch is to dominant for a vertical, and I prefer the original horizontal., but it was definitely worth a try mate., might work for a mag cover shot! the colours look brilliant to me Harshad, but I am sure you know much better then me brother.

No worries mate, we will have to agree to disagree on this one. In my vertical repost there is less of the perch and also I feel composition is much more balanced than in the original and in your repost.;)
I do agree with you that colours look great. The "electric effect" is dependant on the angle in which the light hits the bird.

If those are dull I would need dark sunglasses to view this bird in life!

your welcome... you have lots of time to learn processing, but in the mean time, collecting superb images like this is a great sport!

Also, how this image "should look" is a matter of opinion always, Ofer's post is excellent, we all share ideas, to help each other grow, and develop our own style., this is the fun of forums.

Lovely bird, lovely image. Prey item is a big bonus. Really like Raymond's re-post, but I agree the background could be a tad lighter.

Niranjan....big welcome. I have always liked this shot....must say it is one of my favourtie images of yours. The skink takes it over the top....the head being upside down conveys the feeling of defeat.
