This is my first attempt at using the fractalius program I received as a surprise Christmas gift:D

Merry Christmas to you too Denise.

Wow. You have mastered that program in short order. Very nicely done. I think the key to Fractalius is either going totally wild as in some of Dave's electrified cats which I loved or in toning it way down to just a hint here and there.

Love the birds and the interaction.

Denise - it didn't take you long to master fractalius:)

It looks like you had a good Christmas!

You lucky dog! I can't wait to see what all you do with the new software, Denise. This is a great start. I wish their eyes were a little bit clearer but everything else is so soft and delightful I love looking at it.

Jules, You know I went back and forth on the eyes and felt they stood out like sore thumbs when I masked them back in at 100%. Maybe I can increase to 85%:)I'll give it a try.

Ah, puffins in love. I cannot recall the exact name for the bill tapping courtship behavior (if there is one ....) Most folks don't know that I am a hopeless romantic. IAC, I love this one including the soft BKGR. And I love the two head angles, the feet, and especially the rocks. I'm with Julie as I would like to see the eyes (and especially the necks as well) a bit less blurred. (Can you work on a layer and then erase small areas?)

For educational purposes I would love to see the original capture.

Artie, Thanks for the kind words. Here is the re-worked version w/ a bit more eye detail and neck area detail.

Duh! My speed skimming failed me again. I do need to learn to slow down a bit and smell the roses. Thanks. The original capture is a fine image too.

Or I could have said that I was so captivated by the repost that I failed to keep reading. That is probably closer to the truth.

I like your second response. :)Thankyou for your kind words and I'm glad you like the repost.

Artie, The fractalius program allows you to make a wide variety of looks. I have just started to fool around with it. I am liking it alot. I just finished a very abstract version of 2 GBH. that I will post.
