“Morning Flight”
This little fellow was out of place or lost as he flew past the fishing pier in Siesta Key Beach, Sarasota, Florida. I guess he was waiting for the sea gulls to fly past him. He was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D - IF-ED , with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.
Image Solution:
focal length @ 510mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/1,250sec. - f/11 / exposure comp @ +0.7EV / ISO @ 800 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ AF - C / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient lighting / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform – hand held /
Cool -- Like it a lot Gus, looks very similar to our Nankeen night heron - never been able to get one in flight, in fact never been able to get one outside of a dim cluttered BG.
This guy must have had too much christmas cheer ;)
Love the flight pose with the long neck, the wing down position with tip being blur, the exposure and the soft orange light. Somehow the feet look a bit smudge to me.
