    Default Head On Semipalmated Plover

    Semipalmated Plover from the same day as my last post. A little tight on the bottom, but there isn't any more room there.

    Played around with a few different crops and came up with this one.

    50D, 100-400 at 400mm
    1/250, f/9, ISO 320
    Fill Flash at -2

    I like the 'angry' look, angle and sharpness. The bird could go a bit lighter for my taste and I would remove the white rotation triangle in the lower right. I could also see this as a vertical crop.

    Super shot of this bird. I like the perspective and the serious look on the bird.
    At first I thought he was in snow, but seeing you reside in southern Cal I'm going to guess its the surf.

    Ditto the positives above. I added some below with the Clone Stamp Tool and increased the contrast by brightening the whites. And a small Hue-Sat boost.
