    Default Barnacle Goose

We have had a Barnacle goose on the shores of lake Ontario for the last few days. The rare visitor from Greenland has made a bit of stir in the birding community. This is one of many photos I took of this great looking goose.

Beautiful subject Mike which I've never seen, so thanks for sharing :)

Angle, detail and exposure look right on.

I might have tried cloning the little wave out on the extreme lower left as it kinda detracts from the smoothness of the rest of the water just a bit.

I also might try a bit more room front and rear as it looks a little cramped.

Looks like a pretty fine field guide portrait to me. Could go a tad brighter overall. This one would be a life bird for me. :)

I like this one a lot, soft and nice light, low angle, good eye contact and a good job exposing both the blacks and whites Mike. I agree with Artie: a bird guide-like image :)

Excellent image. About the only thing I might consider doing is try lightening it a little like Artie says and maybe add a little canvas on the left.
