Several people felt I should have gotten all of Henry's crest in the picture I posted. I do have another similar one that includes his crest, but I don't like it as well as the one I posted. However, I found this one that I do like, altyhough the bg is not as good.

Hi Caspar - do prefer the other one myself - the BG is not as good here, your HA is a little off (turned away from the camera) also a lower shooting angle may have helped depending on what was back there.
As presented I would go and set a black point and a white point in P.S. might just give it that bit more oomph.
Keep em coming :)
Hi Casper,
The first thing that I see is that the capture is too steep, looking down at Henry, your head angle and eye contact are off by a tad, and the eye is on the soft side. You need more room in the direction that Henry is looking into and you have a bit of negative space on the top of the frame. I see noise in the background and the specular highlights are a tad distracting...You do have good feather definition. The color rendition is a little flat, would adjust the mid-tones and set the black point as Mr. Peters suggested. I took the liberty of modifying your composition by cropping the top and left side and adding more canvas on the right...I selective sharpened the eye and boosted the saturation and contrast very little...also gave it a pass of noise reduction...see if this presents best to you...
Good looking bird and love the repost by Gus along with all points !! Nailed critique !!
.. in PS you could even increase contrast a bit for the blacks to pop a little more !!! btw notice how Gus cropped the bird leaving a little room for the crest, we don't like clipping body parts if we can help it !!! Excellent image !!!
