(From yesterday) This is my first capture of a Northern Shoveler in flight -- perhaps it is Katie's guy getting away from his better-half for awhile. The image is cropped almost 50%, with a bit of NR and USM applied, otherwise pretty much "as is" . . . C&C appreciated.

one of your best Wendell and a BIF to boot. Whites are not over but might just see if you can recover any detail in them. In a perfect world a little earlier would have been good, You have a good HA, eye contact, goot detail and colours.
Like it a lot wendell - big congrats :)

Proud of you Wendell Sir...:) I like the image and capture...agree that the whites are a little warm and lacking slight details...I like the wing position, the sharp eye and good head angle. The capture point on the duck is almost at the point of flying away...for your next one try catching him a tad before...looking good Sir...keep them coming...

    Hi Wendell

Congrats on the capture, tough bird and you nailed him, just a little passed you but fine image !!!!

What was your metering mode Av,tv? For these type I like going full manual, as you point the camera up or down there will be a huge difference in exposure and can over exposed the bird even at - 1 1/3 Might be able to recoup the whites but not sure !!!

Size in frame not bad when you consider about 70 to 80 would be considered a full frame image !!! Big Congrats !!!
