I am lucky enough to have an area close by that is full of deer and many of them are decent Bucks.
An image taken a few weeks ago. (note: I also have the image without the virtual legs cut off, but prefer this one) :)

Fantastic background and HA. Eye contact is wonderful. Would love to see a vertical if you have one.

Great pose, nice buck, good BG and light. Not crazy about the crop on the legs. I probably would have shoot in portrait format here.

Great colors and I really like the snow on the nose. Would like to see a little more room for the legs.

I like the warm sunlit BG and how it contrasts with what looks to be frosted grasses in the FG. The buck is a nice looking specimen in a good pose. Cropped legs are okay with me (but would also like to see the leg version).

I guess I'll choose this verticle to post.... see he has legs. :D

Robert, I shoot every subject at as many angles as possible both horizontal and verticle... its ingrained in my blood.

or a slightly more centered look perhaps....

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know from reading past posts that most prefer no "virtual legs missing".

I like all of these and am not overly bothered by missing legs which is just as well as I often chop of the feet.

I actually prefer the 3rd picture!

Light and colors are great here, but I think a vertical would make this better.

Mike the last is best for me !!! Next to the last tight on the legs, the little space seems to make a difference for the overall image !!!

Original is fine since you cut not clipped the image but just looks odd .. animal with no feet :)

Mike though I do prefer the verticals one thing I notice is the BG comes into play more, not terrible but noticable. You obviously were further from you sujbect for those images and you had greater DOF. You might try next time to open up to F4 or even 3.2 to get you BG creamier. Thats a great lens for bokeh..

I like it just fine as presented clipped above the joint. Handsome subject in good light, alert pose and excellent BG and FG work well. Also like images 2 and 3. Well done, Mike.

Thanks guys! We have a winter snowstorm going on now over the Holidays and I was able to sneak out and get some more of these guys in the snowy elements... I'll post them soon.

Mike... Like the comp. Virtual legs missing not a biggy.. It's really important that you show what YOU feel. feedback is great. So are the guys /gals here. But if your view has the virtual legs cut off, then that is our start point. Do for me. Like your OP. Lots to like. Thanks.
