Default American coot at low angle

    40D. 400 f5.6 at f/8. iso 400. 1/1250.

Does this crop work? Did not crop horizontal as there was another coot there. And they dont look good when OOF :-) Does the off-center placement work?

At least no will say 'wishing more more room for virtual feet' :-)

Good exposure and HA. I would crop a couple of inches from the bottom as not having the blue color in them makes it dull. Extra points on the water droplets.

Mital...I think you meant NR on FG. I dont see much noise in the BG.

OOPs. I posted the wrong shot. I wanted to post the following with the off-center placement.

The crop works, but I might crop some off the bottom and add some to the top. I would also darken the pupil to make the eye pop more. I like the low angle, exposure, and light.

I like the crop idea, angle, sharpness and exposure control. The only problem I have with it is that the reflection of the bill is somewhat distracting and I might put the bird lower in the frame to minimize this.

I also like Mital's crop. The low angle perspective is very good.
I wonder if the highlights on the bill could be toned down a little more in PP.
