    A hyper fellow, but I managed a few pics of him the other day at Wakodahatchee in late afternoon sun (about 35 minutes before sunset)

    EOS 7d + 500 4.0L + 1.4x TC
    f/5.6
    1/160
    ISO 400
    cropped to vertical
    cloned out a tiny leaf to the left of the bird.

    very nice. classic songbird photo. Loved the clean BG, the perch and the shallow DOF. The light seems very sweet too. I have read some expert opinions( not on BPN..books and such) that perches should not enter from the corner as it looks too deliberately cropped....but I am not sure I agree. It certainly works well here. Well done Michael and thx for sharing.

    I like the perch, eye contact and BG and would put the bird further to the left in the frame. It looks as if there is a slight magenta cast.
