This is taken in my backyard last year. It is a set-up at a feeder. The plant is a butterfly bush flower with a OOF towel in the distance. I wished I used a higher ISO and shutter speed but I still like the result. All C&Cs welcome.

Very nice setup, towel works well for BG! needs a bit more sharpening IMO. Perfect eye contact and beautiful wing position TFS

I like the angle, sharpness and eye contact. The flower is noticeably less sharp than the bird. I guess it pays to have towels with lots of different colors. :)

Nice expo, one round sharpness sure required, nice pose, great details and BG adds well here...

I didn't sharpen the original post after resizing. Here it is with a little sharpening.

Jim...abt sharpening something between the two will work better IMO. And my suggestion would be to leave the wings unsharpened as they are blurred.

I like the bird's pose, comp and the catchlight. Liked the flower too. Abt the BG, am not that sure. The color is great no doubt....but its a little too unnatural for my tastes.

    Thx for sharing. love hummingbirds.

Here it is with your suggestions. I agree with you about the BG. I use natural BGs now but I still like this image.
