    Nikon D300 with 80-400 mm VR @270 mm, tripod mounted
    ISO equivalent 800 (Topaz Denoise applied)
    1/200 sec, f/5.6

    As I look out my window at mountains of ice and snow here on Maryland's eastern shore, my thoughts turn to a warmer place. Here is a Buff-tailed Coronet photographed at the Tandayapa Bird Lodge in Ecuador.

    WOW. Beautiful color , detail , BG and perch as well as exposure. Mybe just a tiny bit tight but stunning , non the less.

    Good-looking specimen, good sharpness, eye contact and angle. I might tone down the perch a bit and maybe give it more room.
