Spent a wonderful few hours in our local lake again, this time foregoing the pleasures of a mud bath and just sitting under some camo in the flooded dead grass. Hundreds of terns were working their way into the wind and dropping down to pick up things from the water. There were little "plops" all around me.

Rob, Terns are such great birds, and so interesting to observe. This is very nice -- I am in Queensland at the moment, and on my laptop it looks a bit "washed out" - the beak and the legs should be redder?? But it may be my monitor -- I miss my good screen..
This is wonderful Rob. I had a similar experience photographing this species recently at lake Cargelligo. Sharp with good eye contact and wing position.
