I like the incoming bird and number of gannets on the ground. The backlit effect is interesting but it looks a bit washed-out on my monitor, maybe some more contrast? I might also remove the specular highlights in the BG.
Where did you photograph these birds?
Actually, I would increase contrast a bit. The image has a reddish cast, which I would try to remove and I meant the specular highlights, in other words the bright spots in the BG.
Now it is better ?

Yes, the reduction of red and removing of the specular highlights improves it.
Here's another option, Giova. Set black and white points but brightened the midtones with curves and masked that to just the birds to avoid brightening the BG.
