    Nice action image here Giova of this Jackal, with good eye contact.
    Looks a little soft here, was this a large crop? Also where was this taken?

    Running toward the camera gives the AF the most trouble !! ... usually going to the center point only will give you a better chance !! Good feel to the image and like the running pose !!!

    Good feel to this although soft as mentioned. (focus looks to be nearer rump, but as Al said, running towards give the af most trouble). TFS

    Giova,

    I am not sure of how much a crop this is, but cropping the animal so he is left in the frame (due to the running to the right stance) and eliminating so much of the upper BG would better compose the subject and make him more important in the image.

    it isn't a crop ..the original shoot is not vertical ...
    It was made in India

    The depth of field at f2.8 is pretty shallow. When clicking at that aperture, one needs to be very sure about the focus. Focussing on the subject in a grassland is not always an easy job despite the AF. When the subject is running, the difficulty increases. A narrow aperture would have been better.
